The Bible is a salvation and redemption story for humankind, but here are a few key verses that highlight the pro-life perspective for Christians to oppose abortion and fight for life.

My pro-life stance is rooted and grounded in my faith in Christ, but it became even more real to me when my mom shared with me that I could’ve been aborted — legally.
Because of a complication during my mom’s pregnancy, the doctor was required by law to give abortion as an option. Thankfully, my mom said it wasn’t her choice to make because I was a gift from God, and I was born a healthy child and have enjoyed life.
But not every mother is in that kind of circumstance. Many are forced or coerced to get an abortion. The culture of death profits off of the abuse of women and the death of children at any and all stages of pregnancy.
Here are seven Bible verses to encourage you to stand for life:
13 For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.[a]
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.
24 Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer,
who formed you from the womb:
“I am the Lord, who made all things,
who alone stretched out the heavens,
who spread out the earth by myself,
1 The Lord called me from the womb,
from the body of my mother he named my name.
5….he who formed me from the womb to be his servant,
to bring Jacob back to him;
3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
the fruit of the womb a reward.
4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior
are the children[a] of one’s youth.
5 Blessed is the man
who fills his quiver with them!
5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
and before you were born I consecrated you;
I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
We are called as followers of Jesus to advocate for the preborn:
11 Rescue those who are being taken away to death;
hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.
12 If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,”
does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?
Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it,
and will he not repay man according to his work?
19 I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live,
Pro-abortion radicals are planning on protesting in churches because they know that at the heart of the issue, standing up for life in the womb goes far beyond what is already clear in science. It is a moral issue.
I want to leave you with one of my favorite Bible verses from Jesus’ own words in John 10:10 that I think sums up well the abortion debate in our time:
“I have come that they may have life and life to the full. The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy.”
