Scott Adams, ‘Dilbert’ Creator, Accepts Jesus in Final Moments

Posted on January 13, 2026January 13, 2026 By Caleb Parke No Comments on Scott Adams, ‘Dilbert’ Creator, Accepts Jesus in Final Moments

“Dilbert” cartoonist Scott Adams, who defined office humor for decades before becoming a leading voice in independent political commentary, declared Jesus as his Lord and Savior in his final message to the world.

His ex-wife and caregiver, Shelly Miles, made the emotional announcement on his show, Real Coffee with Scott Adams, on Tuesday morning.

“He’s not with us anymore,” she told listeners before reading a letter Adams wrote on New Year’s Day, 2026.

A Final Message of Faith

“If you’re reading this, things did not go well for me. I have a few things to say before I go. My body fell before my brain,” Adams wrote in the statement.

Addressing the many followers who reached out to him during his illness, Adams shared his spiritual turning point: “Many of my Christian friends have asked me to find Jesus before I go. I’m not a believer, but I have to admit the risk-reward calculation for doing so looks so attractive to me.”

“So, here I go,” he continued. “I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and look forward to spending an eternity with Him.”

The cartoonist, known for his analytical mind, added a touch of his trademark logic: “The part about me not being a believer should be quite quickly resolved if I wake up in heaven. I won’t need anymore convincing than that. I hope I’m still qualified for entry.”

A Battle With Cancer

Adams had been battling metastatic prostate cancer that had spread to his bones since May 2025. In late 2025, he made headlines when Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and President Trump publicly intervened to help him secure an appointment for a specific FDA-approved cancer treatment.

Despite the intervention, Adams told his listeners earlier this month that the “odds of me recovering are essentially zero”.

Legacy of a “Systems” Thinker

Beyond the comic strip he launched in 1989, Adams was a best-selling author. His book, “How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big: Kind of the Stoyr of My Life,” became a staple in the business world for its focus on building systems rather than goals.

In his final words, Adams asked his fans to “pay it forward”. “Be useful, and please know I loved you all to the very end,” Miles read on his behalf.

“I had an amazing life. I gave it everything I had. If I got any benefits from my work, I am asking that you pay it forward as best as you can. That’s the legacy I want,” Miles said on behalf of Adams. “Be useful, and please know I loved you all to the very end.”

President Trump and many others paying tribute to him online:

“Sadly, the Great Influencer, Scott Adams, has passed away. He was a fantastic guy, who liked and respected me when it wasn’t fashionable to do so,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“He bravely fought a long battle against a terrible disease. My condolences go out to his family, and all of his many friends and listeners. He will be truly missed,” Trump added. “God bless you Scott!”

He started the “Dilbert” comic strip in 1989 and it went on for decades.

Thanks for the laughs, wisdom and commentary, Scott. May you rest in heavenly peace.
