More than 12,000 people were baptized in California over Pentecost Sunday weekend as part of a movement called “Baptize California.”
The widespread revival spread to the shores of the Golden State as thousands were baptized and different churches united under the name of Jesus.
“Still not over all that God did this weekend… and it’s only just begun,” organizers wrote on social media, adding it was “powerful” and “a mighty move of God.”
The main location was on Huntington Beach, where more than 6,000 were baptized and an additional 6,000 were immersed at other churches across the state, Faithwire reports.
“God is not done with America, and we are convinced that if we can unite the Church and turn fully back to Jesus, He will heal our land,” said pastor Mark Francey of Oceans Church, which hosted the campaign.
The group’s mission is to see “people saved, water baptized, and discipled in a local church.”
And next year, they’re planning to take it to the rest of the country for Pentecost Sunday, June 8, 2025.
The event called “Baptize America” will be “to unify the body of Christ for one day of synchronized baptisms sweeping through the entire nation.”
