Antony, Angelina, and Sienna Abdallah, and their cousin Veronique Sakr were killed by a drunk and drugged driver who hit them while they were walking on a sidewalk. The Abdallahs chose to forgive the driver.

“We still feel pain and sorrow everyday, but forgiveness has helped to get rid of the anger and bitterness. It’s helped us get through each day and make sure we are there for our other children,” Daniel said.

Sunday is “i4Give Sunday” in the Land Down Under as a day of forgiveness where you can find someone to forgive or ask for forgiveness.

“Our four children are now our four saints and this day is for them. Forgiveness is the greatest gift you can give yourself and others,” the Abdallahs said in a statement.

“The more you practice the better you become at it and it allows you to live peacefully and to heal. Forgiveness is more for the forgiver than the forgiven,” the parents added.

They shared the Bible verse, Ephesian 4:32, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”

i4Give Sunday encourages people to “search your heart and find someone you can forgive on this day. Set them free and feel the freedom of forgiveness.”

“In the spirit of Jesus’ prayer for unity (John 17:21), Christians are encouraged to engage in conversation around forgiveness and its power to heal and restore broken relationships,” the website reads. “The message of deep forgiveness based in a forgiving God starts within and among churches and going out from there into the community.”
