Fox News’ Benjamin Hall says he’s grateful for prayers in first TV appearance since attack

Fox News foreign correspondent Benjamin Hall made an emotional return to the channel after he was severely injured while covering the conflict in Ukraine.

Inspired by the support he received from around the world, the 40-year-old British journalist urged “Fox & Friends” viewers to “never give up” no matter the circumstances.

“When people reach out and tell you they’re thinking about you, they’re praying for you, that gives you support as well, so for anyone else who is going through really difficult things, keep going. Never give up. It’s inside you, and it’s always good on the other side,” Hall said. 

Fox reports that Hall “was wounded when the vehicle he was traveling in was struck by incoming fire in Horenka, outside Kyiv. Beloved Fox News photojournalist Pierre Zakrzewski and Ukrainian journalist Oleksandra ‘Sasha’ Kuvshynova were killed in the attack that devastated Fox News and the journalism industry at large. “

“I think that when you’ve gone through something like I’ve gone through, the highs, the lows, you have to have a target, you have to get something to fight for. And this is it, trying to get back, trying to speak to you, trying to be on air and trying to tell people the stories, so perhaps it can help them,” Hall said.

“I’ve got one leg, I’ve got no feet, I see through one eye, one workable hand. I was burned all over, and I feel strong, I feel more confident than I ever have,” Hall continued.

Hall discussed his upcoming memoir titled, “Saved: A War Reporter’s Mission to Make It Home,” that is described as a “powerful memoir of family and perseverance, of life and healing, and of what to do when you are tested in ways you never thought possible.”

“This is the story of how he survived—including his dramatic rescue and his arduous and ongoing recovery,” the book description reads. “For the first time, Hall shares his experiences in full—of his time in Ukraine and on the frontlines of the world’s most perilous conflicts, of the terrible attack that nearly killed him, of the love of his family, of the strength and perseverance it has taken to endure multiple surgeries and learn how to walk again.”
