Justin Bieber Shares Journey of Being ‘Healed’ by Jesus

In a world that often consumes its young stars, Justin Bieber is choosing a different path—one defined not by the roar of a stadium, but by the “still, small voice” of his Creator.

The global superstar recently took to Instagram, sharing a profound series of reflections with his 292 million followers. Through these vulnerable notes, Bieber isn’t just sharing a testimony; he is issuing a manifesto for a new kind of life—one where his identity is anchored in being a “son of God” rather than a product of the music industry.

From the Pressure of the System to the Peace of the Soul

Justin’s first post, set to the soulful strains of Al Green’s “Amazing Grace,” tackled the extractive nature of fame. He questioned what happens when a young, visible person is placed inside a system that prioritizes output over the inner life.

For Bieber, the answer was found in the life of the Apostle Paul. He drew parallels between his own need for boundaries and Paul’s radical contentment in Philippians 4:11. He noted that for him, spiritual maturity looks like saying “no” to constant hype and “yes” to the healing found in Romans 12:2: “Do not be conformed to the pattern of this world.”

“The self becomes a product,” Justin reflected, describing the survival mode of a nervous system under the weight of global fame. “But Paul didn’t pretend he was strong… his honesty deepened his dependence on God.”

“Jesus Defines Me Now”

In a second, even more personal post featuring his song “I THINK YOU’RE SPECIAL,” Justin addressed the wounds of his past. He spoke candidly about a system that “rewarded his gift but didn’t protect his soul.”

Yet, the headline of his life today isn’t the trauma—it’s the restoration.

“I’m not speaking as someone still broken,” Bieber declared. “I’m speaking as someone Jesus has already healed.” He anchored this transformation in Isaiah 53:5: “By His wounds we are healed.”

This healing has led to a radical perspective on forgiveness. Rather than seeking revenge against an industry that “took more than it protected,” Justin is seeking redemption. He shared that he wants to see the music industry made “safer, more honest, and more human.”

  • Identity: No longer a product, but a son (2 Corinthians 5:17).
  • Purpose: To help change the very things that once hurt him.
  • Freedom: To tell the truth without hatred (2 Corinthians 3:17).

A Legacy of Faith and Humility

This spiritual evolution isn’t a sudden shift, but the fruit of a years-long journey. Bieber has long been public about his faith, frequently sharing worship songs and links to the Churchome app.

The depth of his growth was perhaps best captured years ago. During my time as a reporter at Fox News in New York City, I spoke with Judah Smith, a pastor and close friend of Justin’s. His words then seem prophetic now:

“Watching Justin’s journey, as he’s grown up in view of the entire world and yet has owned his journey and his challenges and difficulties,” Judah said. “Justin Bieber has taught me far more than I could ever teach him about what it means to grow and walk in humility and be someone who really wants to follow Jesus.”

A Call to Prayer

Justin Bieber would be the first to tell you that he isn’t perfect. He has walked through seasons of deep struggle and public mistakes, but his latest message makes one thing clear: he is no longer looking to the world for validation.

Let’s join together in praying for Justin as he continues this journey of faith. Pray that he remains protected from the pressures of the industry, that his marriage and family stay rooted in Christ, and that he continues to use his massive platform to point others toward the Truth. He may not be a perfect man, but he is pointing his followers to the One who is—Jesus Christ.
