Vice President Kamala Harris is getting burned for a Thanksgiving photo she took with Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff.
“From our family to yours, happy Thanksgiving,” Harris wrote in the caption in a post on X.
Social media users were quick to point out there was a gas stove in the background.
The Biden-Harris administration made a proposal earlier this year advocating for the ban of gas stoves after U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s top leader, Richard Trumka Jr., told Bloomberg “a ban on gas stoves is on the table” over health concerns.
“This is a hidden hazard,” Trumka told Bloomberg. “Any option is on the table. Products that can’t be made safe can be banned.”
Rep. Mike Collins (R-GA) posted, “Is that a gas stove?” His reply was viewed more than 3.4 million times.
Former Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker posted: “Are they?
A) Hypocritical
B) That stupid that they didn’t realize it”
Rep. Pat Fallon (R-TX) said, “Everyone loves gas stoves! Stop trying to ban them and just let Americans cook how they please.”
“Rules for thee but not for me,” another used said.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) got similar treatment after going after Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX), a former White House physician, over gas stove use.
“I’ll NVER give up my gas stove,” Jackson wrote on X. “If the maniacs in the White House come for my stove, they can pry it from my cold dead hands. COME AND TAKE IT!!”
Ocasio-Cortez responded, “Did you know that ongoing exposure to NO2 from gas stoves is linked to reduced cognitive performance.”
Jackson posted a picture of Ocasio-Cortez using a gas stove.
“.AOC says gas stoves cause “reduced cognitive performance” – yet she uses a gas stove? Is this a self diagnosis? AOC, as a medical doctor, I can tell you this: what’s wrong with your head IS NOT caused by stoves.”
Harris is the top choice for Democrat voters if President Biden bows out of the 2024 race, according to a recent Harvard-Harris poll
Harris got 24 percent followed by 13 percent for Hillary Clinton, the former Secretary of State who lost to Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election.
The poll also found that 59% think Biden should not run for reelection, while 41% said he should.
