Kelsey Aper: ‘I Was Radically Delivered from a New Age Cult’

Kelsey Aper has an incredible testimony of being radically transformed by Jesus from a New Age cult.

She shared her story Tuesday in a video on YouTube (Watch at the bottom).

“I was radically delivered from a New Age cult,” Aper began. “Jesus Christ delivered me from New Age.”

Her parents raised her in Religious Science, otherwise known as Centers for Spiritual Living, which was started by Ernest Holmes in 1926.

Kelsey was devoted to the New Age religion but she said she felt dead inside.

“Only Jesus Christ can save and deliver you and pay for the price of sin,” she said. “No matter how much I would try to change my mind or change my thoughts or change anything on my own strength, it wouldn’t get rid of this sense of darkness and death inside of me.”

The California native left New Age in 2009, adding, “I will never turn back and it was the best decision that I ever made to follow Jesus and to renounce all affiliation with every New Age concept, philosophy, teaching that I had ever acquired.”

That summer she started attending Christian church services while attending the New Age center.

“When Jesus set me free, all of the mind chatter stopped in my mind, I was reborn, my spirit was renewed. I was radically transformed,” Aper said. “Some moments were explosive, dramatic one-time events where I got power encountered…and other things have been more of like walking out the process and walking out the renewing of my mind and more of a journey.”

Kelsey noticed a lot of key differences between the truth of the gospel and the false gospel being preached by the New Age movement.

“New Age is hungry for the kingdom but they reject the king,” Aper said. “They want the fruit of the Spirit but they reject the Holy Spirit…otherwise, turn it around to the self.”

Today, Kelsey offers one-on-one Christian mentorship sessions, and as a friend of hers, I can tell you she is an incredible teacher and leader.

“I want to encourage you today that Jesus is the lover of your soul,” Aper concluded. “He’s far exceedingly, abundantly beyond greater and more satisfying than any other religion, especially New Age. Jesus is the only one that delivers the soul, and delivers you from demons and out of darkness.”
