Asbury University Revival ‘Officially’ Ends After 16 Days with Awesome News

After 16 days, the historic Asbury University revival has “officially” ended, according to officials on campus.

But for many, it’s just begun.

Hundreds have come to faith in Jesus and thousands recommitted their lives to Christ, according to organizers.

And the revival has spread way beyond the Wilmore, Kentucky campus.

The Collegiate Day of Prayer service Thursday marked the final “official” revival service at Asbury University, where Christian students from over 200 campuses gathered together. (Watch the full livestream at the bottom.)

Revival at Asbury started after a regular Wednesday chapel service when a handful of students wouldn’t leave — and it lasted over 360 hours.

“On February 8th, a regularly scheduled chapel service never ended, and in addition to students here and across the street, colleges and universities representing over 200 schools, students flocking in from all over the country, have joined with us over the last couple of weeks,” Asbury University President Dr. Kevin Brown said at the beginning of the massive service.

“I just want to say, this was not planned,” Brown said of the revival. “And it’s not because of celebrities or professional musicians. This has been a nameless, titleless movement, and tonight will be no different.”

The university president said the focus has been Jesus Christ.

The prayer, testimony, word, and worship in the 3-hour-long service was powerful.

I was blessed to talk to a young woman, Makaela Perkins, who went to the revival and an older gentleman, Pastor Bill Hart, who was also at the 1970 revival, which lasted one week.

I’m grateful for the older generations that have poured into us and I’m excited to see how God continues to pour out His Spirit on Gen Z.
