Singer Post Malone surprised a 36-year-old single mother working at a bar in Houston with a $20,000 tip.
The musicisn, whose real name is Austin Post, went to The Railyard bar on Christmas Eve, where Renee Brown was working the late-night, struggling because she had to be away from her 9-year-old daughter on the holiday.

“Going into work Christmas Eve, I was so sad I had to leave my baby girl to go to work. Oblivious that God would send me a Christmas miracle,” she told the outlet. “This is hands-down the most humble, personable celebrity I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. He changed my life on Christmas [expletive] Eve, and will forever be grateful. Thank you so much, Austin.”
Brown said she was shocked when Post Malone made the unexpected visit with his friends, including Shaboozey, the singer of “A Bar Song (Tipsy).”
Post Malone and his entourage stayed at the bar until closing time early on Christmas morning. He asked for his check, but to his surprise, his friends and other patrons had already covered it.
He then insisted on paying something so he could leave a tip. When he asked the bartender, Renee, to ring him up for a small amount, she charged him a penny. However, when she entered his tip later, she was stunned to find a $20,000 gratuity.
Brown said she was overwhelmed with emotions but was eventually able to thank Post Malone.
“I know I was crying and thanking him, but he has no idea exactly how much this meant to me,” she said.
Brown said the money went a long way.
“This put me in a position to at least be able to get a way back and forth to work and pay up on rent and save a bit,” she said. “I’m trying to save up to start a business, so I don’t have to continue working two jobs and be able to spend more time with my daughter.”
Brown admitted that “things have been extremely difficult,” adding that the gift was “truly a blessing.” The visit, she added, was “absolutely amazing and something I could talk about and remember for the rest of my life.”
