President Trump Calls Nation to Prayer: ‘Best Thing You Can Do’

Former President Donald Trump is calling for the United States to pray for the “safety and security and the success and future success of our country.”

When asked on a Pastors4Trump call Monday night how believers could pray for him, Trump made the plea for the United States the night before he predicted he would be arrested from the Manhattan district attorney’s investigation.

“The best thing you can do for me is to pray for our country and the safety of our country because the danger we’re in now, I think, is greater than any danger we’ve ever had,” Trump said.

The 2024 Republican presidential candidate added, “we have no leader. We are not a respected country by these other very hostile countries, and some cases, very hostile. And I think the greatest thing I could ask for is prayer for our country and our safety and we have to get through this period of time for the United States of America.”

Evangelist Franklin Graham called on Christians to pray for Trump on Monday before Trump’s prayer call.

We need to pray for our country and where it is headed. The left in Washington and across the country just can’t get their fill of attacking Donald Trump. They are so paranoid of him. The onslaught against him is continual. There’s no question, the media and the left manipulated the last election, and they are scared to death of Donald Trump’s possible return. So, night after night, the media runs negative stories about former President Trump. Now they’re talking about the possibility of arresting him in the hopes that this would prevent him from running for president again—this would be a huge mistake. The charges against him are definitely politically motivated. I would like to ask Christians across this country to pray specifically for former President

@realDonaldTrump, that God’s hand would be upon him, protect him, and direct him in every step he takes—and that God’s will be done. We need to work together to strengthen this nation—not divide and destroy it.

Graham, a longtime Trump supporter, told CBS News he would not endorse Trump — or any other candidate — in the 2024 GOP presidential primary.

It is in times of crisis that we are often drawn to prayer and seeking God.
