Tennessee officials are calling for prayer after a mass shooting at a Nashville-area Christian school that left seven dead, including three children and the shooter.
David Rausch, director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), acknowledged the pushback against prayers in the wake of shootings but called for prayer anyway.

“Now I know there will be people who want to criticize us for prayers, but that’s the way we do that in the South,” Rausch said.
“We believe in prayer and we believe in the power of prayer, and so our prayers go out to these families,” the TBI director added.
