Atlanta pastor surprised by anonymous gift that saved services

One Atlanta church was struggling to broadcast their Sunday services online after their computer broke.

But the pastor of Park Avenue Baptist Church found an envelope that turned their despair into hope once again.

Rev. Darci Jaret opened it and found $2,000 inside, enough to get a new computer.

She was stunned by the anonymous gift since their congregation hasn’t met in person since last March.

“It’s a Judeo-Christian idea that the highest blessing is to give and not receive recognition for that giving,” Jaret told WSB-TV. “This may ‘be’ recognition of it, but they remain anonymous and we want to thank them so sincerely.”

While many religious services were forced to go online, most megachurches have resources in place for virtual services, but many smaller congregations have struggled with using Facebook Live and other ways to broadcast their services.

It is especially important to support local churches and congregations with tithes and offerings at this time, until we are all able to meet again.
