“Sound of Freedom,” the film based on a true story of Tim Ballard’s undercover government agent work combatting child sex trafficking, continued to soar at the box office over the weekend.
Angel Studios is projecting the film will cross $100 million this week in sales after the movie moved up in the box office rankings in its second weekend in theaters, an unusual thing for a film and a sign of strong grassroots support.

Despite the media — including Bloomberg, Washington Post, Rolling Stone, and The Guardian — trying to criticize the film as a QAnon conspiracy flick, critics rated the movie 72% and the audience gave it 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.
“While the entire summer movie box office lineup is underperforming, our small independent film continues to grow week over week. Driven by millions of fans and supporters, ‘Sound of Freedom’ has become a national—and soon international—movement for change,” said Jared Geesey, SVP of Global Distribution at Angel Studios.
“There have only been 10 wide-release movies in box office history that have had a 2nd weekend increase greater than 35% over their opening weekend. All of them did it at Christmas. Angel Studios is the only Studio to do this in the summer blockbuster season with Sound of Freedom,” added Brandon Purdie, Head of Theatrical Distribution for Angel Studios.
