Tennessee First Lady Maria Lee shared an update on her cancer treatment Thursday, thanking everyone for prayers that have “sustained” her along the way.
“It hasn’t always been easy,” Mrs. Lee said, “but not once have I felt alone, and we’ve seen God’s faithfulness every step of the way.”
The wife of Gov. Bill Lee (R) announced that she is “in remission” following 18 weeks of treatment and a successful stem cell transplant in February.
“I still have healing that needs to take place as my immune system regenerates and strengthens,” Maria Lee said. “I will be monitored closely over the next five years, but I am doing remarkably well.”
