NFL analyst Tony Dungy is getting backlash in the headlines for sharing his conservative Christian values.
The former Hall of Fame coach and NBC Sports analyst spoke at the 50th March for Life in Washington, D.C. Friday.
It appears Leftists are looking for any reason to get him fired and de-platformed because he’s an outspoken believer.
Keith Olbermann called for Dungy to be fired before he even spoke at the massive pro-life demonstration.
“Dear @nbcsports – if you have any remaining concern for your operational reputation, fire Tony Dungy now. He is using you,” Olbermann said.

“Tony Dungy Is a Right-Wing Zealot and the NFL and NBC Don’t Care,” a headline for The Nation read.
“I’m done with Tony Dungy and the way the NFL and NBC coddle his right wing extremism. So I wrote about it,” The Nation’s Dave Zirin tweeted, calling Dungy an “anti-gay bigot” in the article. “One thing i hint at but don’t say explicitly – and I should have – is that the NFL and many at NBC celebrate Dungy (not tolerate, celebrate) because they share his politics.”
A far-left SiriusXM analyst, Ameshia Cross, accused Dungy of being “wildly out of order” in a racist tweet:
“This is vile, disrespectful to Damar Hamlin/ his family and quite frankly wildly out of order,” Cross wrote. “@TonyDungy crossed the line repeatedly, but this might be the grossest attempt at flying into the culture wars. I’ll give it to the Repubs they always find a Black man to carry the water.”
After seeing the backlash Dungy received for his comments, I tweeted a short clip with this message.
Tony Dungy is 100% right. He takes a bold stand for his faith in Jesus and the right to life for everyone. The outrage is fake. Real people love him.
The tweet went viral for all the support.

“Love Coach Dungy,” Derrick Tillman tweeted.
“This is real courage!” Jon Elder wrote.

Former Congressman Mark Walker was at the March for Life with Dungy.
“I told Coach that thousands are praying for him,” Walker tweeted. “Please join me in thanking Coach Dungy, @BenjaminSWatson and others standing up for the unborn at @March_for_Life.”

Jason Whitlock called out the fake outrage against Dungy in a series of messages.
“The backlash against Tony Dungy is well-orchestrated and not remotely organic,” he wrote. “The motive is to outlaw a biblical worldview. The anti-God agenda is so strong and obvious. I’m so sick of alleged Christians sitting silent while someone like Tony has his character assassinated.”
“Cowards! All of you. So scared of your secular masters. You choose your satanic liberal puppet masters over Tony Dungy, a man who has done nothing but help us. Cowards! Nothing infuriates me more,” he added.
National radio host Todd Starnes agreed with Whitlock in an op-ed.
“Cowards, indeed. But that’s to be expected when getting good ratings trumps doing the right thing,” Starnes said.

On Saturday, Dungy posted an apology to Twitter about a response he had to a Daily Wire article.
“As a Christian I want to be a force for love to everyone. A force for healing and reconciliation-not for animosity,” he wrote in part.
This past week I posted a tweet that I subsequently deleted. I issued an apology but not everyone saw it. So I am reposting my apology here. As a Christian I want to be a force for love to everyone. A force for healing and reconciliation-not for animosity. pic.twitter.com/esew5wjUyD

Amen, Coach! And I believe you are a forcer for love and healing and reconciliation. It’s a shame people use their platforms to try to cancel you for your Christian beliefs.
The cancel culture mob isn’t satisfied with Dungy’s apology. They won’t be satiated until anyone who doesn’t fully agree with them is silenced and fired — literally the opposite of tolerance and diversity.
For what it’s worth, NBC confirmed to Sports Illustrated that he will continue to broadcast for the NFL Playoffs this weekend.
