Thousands of students challenged their classmates to follow Jesus, read the Bible, and pray during the 18th annual Fields of Faith.
The event, sponsored by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), was held throughout the month of October.
“Like all of our FCA events, Fields of Faith helps coaches and athletes experience God’s saving grace and gain the knowledge that lives can be transformed through Jesus,” Shane Williamson, FCA president and CEO, said. “We pray that these amazing experiences for God’s glory will continue for years to come.”
CBN News reports that hundreds of thousands attended Field of Faith and thousands gave their lives to Christ.
“The word of God changes the country,” Jeff Martin, executive director of campus sports ministry for FCA, told the outlet. “The impact on students, adults, and the entire community from the very beginning of Fields of Faith is to get students to start reading scripture consistently.”
FCA has been challenging coaches and athletes of all ages to use their platform to impact the world for Christ since 1954.
Several students shared their testimony from Fields of Faith.
“We are ready to see the Lord use this moment to launch a season of revival that will bring many students to a saving relationship with Jesus!” Chris said. “All of the youth ministers here are networked and committed to serve together in unity!”
Although there was a significant drop in fields during the pandemic from more than 500 fields in 2019 with more than 190,000 people, this year had a big impact on those who attended.
“We totally rocked Fields of Faith!” Zach said. “It was such an amazing experience to see so many teens there, so much more than I expected! Most of them were really into worship and what we had to say with the testimony and scriptures! God is awesome!”
Attendees were challenged to make a decision to trust Jesus, grow in their faith, or start a Bible reading program offered by FCA that includes part of 2 Chronicles and the book of John.
“Fields of Faith was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever been to,” Micah said. “So many people were all able to worship God, at our school, in front of everyone. This is a wonderful event that all states and schools should try to start.”
One student shared their testimony: “You will never go wrong following Jesus. You will go wrong following the world.”
Amen.
