The series celebrated the cover featuring Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus, in a post on Instagram.
“Did you ever imagine a Jesus show would be on the cover of TV Guide? This feels historic,” they wrote.
The show, which follows Jesus and His disciples, is airing all three seasons on Sunday nights on The CW. It became a worldwide hit with 110 million viewers in 175 countries.

“God is great,” Roumie said after he landed the TV Guide cover. “And He loves you. Give it all to Him and He’ll give it right back to you.”
Director Dallas Jenkins wrote, “Big moment.”
One person joked, “Jesus raising TV Guide from the dead was unexpected.”

Roumie told Fox News his role was “ordained” for him since he was 11 years old when he built a cross after watching the 1977 miniseries “Jesus of Nazareth.”
The 48-year-old actor starred as street preacher Lonnie Frisbee in the “Jesus Revolution” film.
