A Texas boy is making a miraculous recovery after being shot six times, including twice in the head, on the Fourth of July.
Cody John Olson, 10, was allegedly shot in Denton by his moms’ ex-boyfriend, Travis Rollins, who is in jail on a $1.2 million bond and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Although Cody John has not been able to speak yet, his grandparents, Michael and Vickie Cross, said he has shown incredible progress at Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth.
“He’s able to shake his head ‘yes’ or ‘no,'” Vickie told NBC 5 DFW. “He can give a thumbs up or down. The nurses said he helped move himself onto his side.”
In addition to bullets to the head, he was also shot in his foot, hip, forearm, and abdomen.
“If this doesn’t move you to believe in God and miracles, I don’t know what will,” Vickie explained. “He’s by far just the most precious and innocent little boy you’ve ever seen, and he deserves a good chance at life.”
The young boy is expected to spend a year recovering in the hospital after the horrific shooting. His grandfather started a GoFundMe that raised almost $14,000 of the $1 million goal to cover surgeries and rehab.
“It is only by the Grace of God that he’s improving!” he said. “Any and all donations are gratefully appreciated beyond words!!! Hugs going out to all of you who are praying and helping our 10 year old grandson!!!”
