One reason Gab is better than Twitter and Facebook

I joined Gab, a social network dedicated to free speech, on Tuesday.

Within minutes I had my first post up, got verified, and was flooded with followers.

I immediately noticed something very different, especially as a Christian and conservative, from my Twitter and Facebook.

Actual engagement.

While conservatives are getting banned, censored, throttled, shadow-banned, whatever-you-want-to-call-it on other social media outlets, Gab is clearly one where people are free to post, share, and comment — and they are, in big numbers.

I posted a short paragraph introducing myself:

“Hey guys! I’ve reported for Fox News and now I’m a senior correspondent for the Todd Starnes Show — It’s my first post on Gab! Looking forward to connecting with other Christians and conservatives, and if you like running, matcha, reading, or traveling, we’ll have plenty to talk about. Let’s do this!”

A special moment I’ll never forget from President Trump

I added the “praise hands” emoji and a photo of myself from Dead Horse Point State Park in Utah from 2020 — and it exploded.

Not even 24 hours later, and I have over 5,000 likes, 300 comments, and 295 reposts.

It reminds me of the early days of social media, when we were actually connecting with one another instead of today’s climate, where almost everyone is hesitant to post anything on social media unless it’s a puppy (like the Dalmatian my family just got).

Here’s the thing about free speech. It only works if people actually practice it and with Big Tech censoring it so heavily, literally banning former President Trump, it’s no wonder so many people are flocking to alternatives.

Connect with Caleb on Gab or join for the first time!

I’m just starting out on Gab. Who knows, it might not be the best social media site, but at least the people on it are active and share their input.

If you’re on Gab, let’s connect at gab.com/calebparke, and if you’re interested in joining, it’s super easy and I’d encourage you to do it!
