Christian Nightclub in Nashville Gains Global Popularity, Goal to ‘Portray the Love of Jesus’

Posted on April 20, 2024April 20, 2024 By Caleb Parke

A new Christian nightclub has some non-traditional rules and it’s attracted hundreds, including a couple from Australia.

No twerking. No drinking. No smoking. And no secular music on the dance floor.

Instead, attendees – 18 and older – can expect prayer, dancing, singing, and a unique spin on fun and fellowship.

Seven men in their 20’s started “The Cove” in Nashville as a way to appeal to young people who might not want to go to a church building to find God.

“The idea we came up with was something that’s fun, a safe environment and doesn’t compromise your faith, but at the same time allows you to encounter Jesus outside of the church and connect with other individuals as well,” Eric Diggs, CEO of The Cove, told Newsmax.

Diggs added a lot of people who traveled to the Christian nightclub have experienced “church hurt” or don’t have a “thriving community” where they are from.

Haynza and Kim Posala, a young couple from Brisbane, Australia, traveled to Nashville for the event in February.

“We thought, this is cool — it’s God-glorifying,” Haynza, 23, told the Associated Press.

Kim added, “It’s surreal. It’s a community and that’s what church is about.”

Noah Moon, a Korean-American Christian rapper, said, “When I came here it was nothing but love and joy and dabbing me up, just shaking hands and just getting to know people. For someone who just moved to Nashville, it’s the biggest blessing I could’ve possibly had.”

Shem Rivera, The Cove’s Strategic Partnerships Manager, said they aren’t focusing on naysayers who give them negative feedback.

“At the end of the day, we want to portray the love of Jesus,” Rivera told Newsmax.

The next gathering is Friday, May 24, for a summer-themed party with a DJ, time for a meet-and-greet, with vendors selling Christian merch and food trucks outside the venue. Tickets are $30.
