Lloyd Martin set the Guinness World Record as the youngest person with Down Syndrome to finish a marathon at 19 years old.
Lloyd – who was born with a hole in his heart and diagnosed with Down syndrome at birth – hugged his mom at the finish line of the London Marathon.
He finished with a time of 6:46:10.
The teen began training with his mom, Hooper, five months before the 26.2-mile race.
Lloyd is an accomplished gymnast and soccer player. He’s already earned gold medal in the gymnastics vault at the British Disability Championships last year, part of the Special Olympics.
After finishing the marathon, Lloyd encouraged family members of people with Down syndrome not to worry because “anything is possible.”
